Audio and Video Editor

This vacancy is for a Post Production Video Editor based at the Ericsson Production Centre at Channel 4's headquarters in Victoria. The Production Centre provides Post Production facilities for editing audio and video for Promos and Trailers for E4, More 4, Film Four, BoxTV and Channel 4 as well as re-versioning many programmes for legal and compliance reasons. You may also be expected to fully QC media, provide important feedback and engage in video, audio and graphics work as required.
The role is suitable for someone with previous experience working in post-production editing environment in a team of 6 Editors. This role demands someone who is naturally organised and can juggle multiple requests.
Responsibilities:
Edit Legal & Compliance edits.
Edit and package content according to Channel 4 tech specs, network style guides and make lists using Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects
Ensure that all aspects of compliance Codes of Practice relating to the channels and broadcast are observed
Compile all picture and audio elements and check in to Audio department for mixing (Pro Tools)
Take delivery of finished audio sessions and upload to relevant cloud folders for Producer approval, as well as back up folders as required
Update department scheduling tool (SchedulALL) as tasks or campaigns are completed
Report any technical problems to the Post Production Engineering team and feedback any issues to the Technical Operations Supervisor
Maintain QC standards of newly created materials
Able to thoroughly carry out metadata entry tasks
An impeccable attention to detail is a must
Methodically and diligently work through production schedules
Responsible for ensuring all operational procedures are followed
Prioritise and deal with queries as quickly and efficiently as possible
Analyse the current workflow and propose/report anything that can be improved
Log any technical or operational errors experienced on shift
Ad hoc duties
You may be required to work shifts (days, EEC weekend shifts)
Requirements:
Advanced knowledge of Avid Media Composer, Avid Interplay and Adobe Premiere is absolutely essential
Advanced knowledge and relevant experience of After Effects
Good understanding of compliance regulatory code of practices, the DPP and EBU regulations
Ability to diagnose and repair erroneous content
Ability to coordinate, prioritize and edit in a fast paced environment
Ability to work well under pressure
Technical training and experience in a recognized, promo team, post facility or media based organization.
Advanced knowledge of file based workflows and broadcast technology
Good operational knowledge of editing working within a team environment
Excellent understanding of video and audio theory
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to identify and prioritize problems
Decision making skills
