This role is covering maternity leave on a Fixed Term Contract which is anticipated to last for 12 months. This role entails...Reporting into the Producers and Script Editors, the Assistant Script Editor will work across the entire editorial process, attending story conferences and script meetings. The Assistant Script Editor will read all scripts to ensure the consistent treatment of established characters and continuity within episodes. Some Key Responsibilities:Read all storylines and scripts throughout editorial stages and be across the entire editorial process. Provide cover and assistance for Script Editors when required. This will include holiday cover, story tracks, emergency amendments and proofreading.When covering other script editors, represent the interests of the writer to the production team. Provide writers with sufficient information to enable the editorial brief to be met.Manage the first draft cast-roster ensuring the correct information is provided to the cast and finance department.Ensure the consistent treatment of established characters and continuity within the episodes whilst reading scripts.Manage and maintain the numerous databases for the Script Department. To be considered for this opportunity you will need to demonstrate the following skills:Good understanding of production processes evidenced by experience both in studio and/or set and on location.Previous experience as an Assistant Script Editor or a Script Editor on a drama- at least 2 credits.Minimum of one year working within an editorial team within a drama.Previous experience of working on a rolling production.Experience of spotting and engaging with new writing talent.
