Job Specification:
SPT currently have an exciting opportunity for 2 Assistant Promo Producers to join their busy London based team, for a 12 month period.
Reporting to the Senior Producer, the Assistant Promo Producers will work across all channels to strict deadlines. They will generate ideas, write scripts, produce self op-ed rough cuts, direct voice over artists and work with editors, animators plus sound engineers to produce TX ready promos.
There will also be occasional involvement with other creative projects spanning the on-air, animation and channel teams (sponsorship, re-brands, stunts etc).
To be successful in these roles, you will be a highly motivated, self managing individual, who is able to work well with others as well as in isolation. The ability to communicate your ideas and opinions fluently is essential, as is the grace to accept constructive criticism and the determination to see a project through to completion whatever the apparent obstacle.
Key tasks include but are not limited to:
• Manage the makelist and safe trafficking of promotions though to transmission
• Generate engaging promo treatments
• Pitch ideas / treatments to the On Air Manager for approval
• Write well crafted promo scripts
• Choose appropriate music beds
• Edit competent rough cuts (knowledge of Adobe Premiere and Final Cut Pro preferred)
• Confidently direct voice over artists
• Direct the work of editors, animators and sound engineers who assist on your promos
• Deliver all promos to the deadline specified
• Provide creative advice and assistance to colleagues
• Assist with Project work where required
Essential Skills & Experience Required
• Some Previous promo producing experience essential
• Showreel essential- please submit alongside your CV and Cover Letter if you wish to be considered.
• Working knowledge of broadcasting processes
• Broad understanding of Edit, Animation and Sound design
• Competent self op edit skills (Premiere and FCP preferred)
• Strong communication skills
• Good Administration Skills
• Ability to work unsupervised
• Some shoot experience (directing preferred but not essential)
• Any After effects / Motion based skills or sound design experience a bonus
• Must be prepared to work a shift pattern if required
