MOTD Kickabout is CBBC's weekly football programme; providing all the latest news, goals and results from the football world, as well as features on interesting stories within the subject matter. It is also a way for sport-enthusiast viewers to display their own skills and get involved alongside their footballing heroes via UGC. MOTD Kickabout transmits ever Saturday morning plus bulletins every Monday and Friday to ensure the audience are fully informed at all times. There is also a regularly updated website with clips, quizzes and numerous avenues for audience engagement.The successful candidate will be part of a small but dynamic team creating weekly output for both TV and online. MOTD Kickabout is a fast turnaround show, and our Assistant Producer will need a variety of skills and experience.We are looking for an experienced Assistant Producer to join the team for a 12 week contract from 1st April 2019.MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:- The Assistant Producer of Match of The Day Kickabout will set up and attend shoots for VT features for the weekly show, including both self-shooting, scripting, directing and self-editing VT features.- Working closely with the other AP and Researcher, you'll be across weekly football content and news and using that knowledge to generate creative and innovative stories and treatments for both digital and linear TV output. You'll supervise a Researcher and Runner, managing their day to day office tasks and on location where necessary.- You'll work with the MOTD Kickabout talent and on-screen presenters on location and build excellent on-going relationships with them.- The Assistant Producer will ensure that the Kickabout output accurately reflects the diverse nature of our young audiences and that all work is carried out in line with the BBC Children Protection and Health and Safety policies.IDEAL CANDIDATE:- The ideal candidate will have outstanding technical skills; and be an adept self-shooter (preferably on FS7), and possess substantial self-editing experience (preferable on Adobe Premier).- Experience of script writing is essential, and ideally for VTs or bulletins.- Outstanding communication skills are essential and you'll be able to effectively build and manage relationships with internal team members, external organisations and partners, as well as on-screen talent and presenters.- You'll have a passion for football, and have a knowledge and understanding of our young and diverse Kickabout audience and a keen interest in providing compelling sport based content for said audience.- Demonstrable experience of originating creative and innovative ideas for both linear TV and digital content is essential.- Experience of sourcing footage from Sports Library, creating graphics on Adobe packages, and previous experience of using Jupiter and IP Browse are also all desirable.
