This role is suited to someone who is organised, has great interpersonal skills and is keen to develop a career within media production. How you will contribute:You will support producers and senior producers on daily and feature podcasts for a global audienceHelp produce packages, organizing interviews and booking guestsResearch story and guest ideasAssist producers with briefs and long-term bidsPrepare the studio for recordings, coordinating studio bookings internallyLocate and book external studiosFind stringers and organise mic-holds/tape syncsOversee and improving internal administrative systemsAssist Economist journalists with recording equipment, logging equipmentAssist producers with publication on podcast platforms (acast scheduling,soundcloud logos etc)Assist with on-air diversity initiativesAssist with promotional assets for social mediaThe desirable skills for this role include:Experience of working in radio/podcasts and with producersTechnical experience in a radio studio and dealing with ISDN lines/recording equipmentExperience of booking studios and guestsExperience of researching news stories and writing interview briefsSharp attention to detailAbility to work diplomatically with a wide variety of peopleEvidence of successful collaboration with colleaguesTrack record of being enterprising and eager to take initiativeAn understanding of The Economist's distinctive style and valuesPlease submit a CV, Cover Letter and three links to your work, explaining your role in each piece to radio.
