JOB PURPOSE
WTA Media are hiring an experienced Assistant Producer in sports production to work in a centralised team to produce and visualise a new strategy for content on all 55 WTA events starting in 2017.
Starting in late summer 2017 the Assistant Producer will join an established WTA production team and be responsible for working with the team on the rebrand of WTA world feed content, match production, highlights, news feed and magazine show content for the start of the 2017 season.
The role will report to the Series Producer on key production planning and post production rotas as well as have creative input to the project and travel extensively to tournaments to produce news feed and magazine show content to support broadcaster needs and requirements.
The ideal candidate should have experience in script writing, editing and visualising a creative idea from its conception through post production and an understanding of the politics and logistics of news feed content and being able to separate entertainment value from hard news.
The role will have potential to develop within the production team to work across aspects of the live production, producing world feed running orders and managing commentators and talent as well as directing shoots and managing junior team members.
TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED
• Basic post production levels e.g. the ability to rough cut news and sports content and rushes.
• Experience in script writing
• Examples of post-production produced content.
• Understanding of content archives and file sharing formats.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in sport production.
• Appreciation of workflow operations and procedures for digital content.
• Understanding of production values for high end client content including major international broadcasters.
PERSONAL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
• Ability to work well as part of a team.
• Comfortable in interviewing some of the biggest names in sport and getting the best out of them.
• Brand awareness and should be able to work well with external clients.
• Consideration of the difference between news and entertainment content.
• Self-driven to work hard in difficult and demanding situations (often long hours on-site and in the office.)
• Creative outside the box mentality, anything is possible.
• Willingness to travel (100+ days per year)
