Assistant Producer

Covent Garden, London

Who we are

Alpha Grid is a media company, part-owned by the Financial Times, that specialises in delivering multi-platform content to the intellectually curious, from senior decision-makers to ambitious millennials.

We're about high-impact content, a global outlook, a journalistic mindset and creativity. We work globally across industry sectors to help companies engage their clients and grow their business. We do video, digital, social, publishing, events, strategy and research from our UK and North American hubs.

In late 2016, Alpha Grid launched its Specialist Financial Content (SFC) division to exclusively service its growing portfolio of blue chip financial services clients and global asset management firms. The team is made up of individuals with experience in working for financial institutions, fintech companies and business news television, enabling us to produce content with both flair and a sophisticated representation of financial and economic concepts.

Who we're looking for

We're looking for an energetic Assistant Producer to join our rapidly growing team to support the Executive Producer and Head of Specialist Financial Content on key client projects. You'll need to be agile, a self-starter, and able to see the big picture. We are a small, but effective team - which has been key to our success. We work closely with Alpha Grid's production team and partners to align the right resources behind each of our projects, to ensure we meet our clients' high expectations and timelines.

What you'll do

* Scripting - assist with writing scripts for client videos, speeches, speaker notes etc., and simplify complex financial themes into compelling, smart content for viewers

* Event management - assist with coordinating large corporate client events including: making speaker enquiries; guest bookings; assisting with the creation of print and digital event materials

* Production - assist the Executive Producer with sourcing/selecting footage, soundbites and other ad-hoc requests

What we'll expect from you

* 2-3 years' relevant production/marketing experience, preferably gained within the financial services arena

* Bachelor's degree or higher in media/marketing/communications/finance or similar

* Knowledge of production techniques and editing practices would be a distinct advantage

* An understanding of the mechanics of the financial services sector and a passion for news, current affairs and politics advantageous

* Knowledge of the SFC's service offering and the clients we serve

* Excellent communication skills, including fluency in English

What's in it for you

* An opportunity to join a fun, friendly and diverse team where you can make a real impact and be a pivotal member of a team that's fueling Alpha Grid's overall growth and expansion. We work hard, support each other, and have a laugh too!

* 'Wins, whines and wines' every Friday afternoon - where the company comes together to share successes and challenges from the week gone by over a glass of bubbly

* A centrally located office nestled between Holborn Station and the hustle and bustle of Covent Garden
