Overview
To fulfil a number of editorial and logistical roles for the ITV News Home and Foreign Desks, working on location and supporting output and digital teams.

Responsibilities
Multi-skilled with the ability to work across input, output and digital platforms
To work across all areas of the ITV News operation - Home, Foreign, London and the Regions
To assist News Editors as and when required
Key liaison point between newsdesk and on-the-road teams
Briefing reporters and crews
Undertaking any planning duties as and when required
The ability to field produce when required
To answer newsdesk phones, dealing with callers and prioritising information
Passing on information in a clear and concise manner
Coordinate the assignment of crews
Transcribing reporter scripts where not available in running order
Logging picture
Being aware of copyright and access information
Ensure ITV News coverage reflects and showcases a diverse range of opinions, matters and communities and champions diversity.
Researching, locating and negotiating the acquisition of stills
Fielding queries and facilitating special commissions from external clients
Pursue and liaise with any potential guests or contributors

Qualifications
A good understanding of all news technologies used in the field and a keenness to embrace new technologies - self-editing, self-shooting and an ability to publish on digital platforms
You must possess either the relevant journalism qualification (BJTC, NCTJ or equivalent) or have relevant journalism/newsroom experience
Excellent communicator
Ability to work calmly under pressure
A strong team player
Good organisational skills coupled with the ability to multi-task whilst retaining strong attention to detail
Flexible worker with a positive, proactive approach to problem solving
A genuine interest in, and knowledge of, the ITV News agenda and strong news judgement
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to deal with a broad range of people
Good knowledge of Ofcom regulations and the ITN compliance manual
Awareness of Health and Safety requirements
Awareness and understanding of the financial implications of all decision-making
Recognition of the importance of cross-company cooperation
A full, clean UK driving licence is desirable
Experience in a working newsroom is required
