Newsround are looking to develop their digitally-native content and are seeking an innovative Assistant Content Producer to develop and produce new ideas for Newsround platforms.
The successful candidate will have some experience in digitally-native content creation together with lots of ideas for how to engage children in news across multiple platforms.
Main Responsibilities
You'll be able to manage the production of original material, which can include writing, creating quizzes, graphics, audio and video, and you'll have a sound knowledge of copyright requirements, ensuring BBC Editorial Guidelines are adhered to and that the content meets the highest quality standards. You will also need to work on Newsround's Twitter account.
You'll be aware of the Newsround audience, not only so you can generate content that reflects the diverse nature of said audience, but also understand the importance of our Child Protection policies and Health and Safety guidelines, ensuring that all work is carried out in accordance to those.
You'll also develop and maintain excellent communication and collaboration with internal BBC groups and external partnerships.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a digital expert with proven experience creating and delivering new content of a high quality to audiences. You'll also possess sound technical knowledge of digital publishing and generating online output - with some experience of self-shooting, video editing and GFX production skills.
You'll have a demonstrable passion for Children's content, and outstanding editorial credentials which evidence clear editorial judgment, especially when it comes to Children's content.
You'll have the ability to work cooperatively as part of a large team, and be able to communicate effectively both internally and externally.
Experience working creating innovative content for a Children's audience and/or experience of producing content under time challenges in a news and topical environment is also highly desirable.
