ABOUT FUTURELEARN
FutureLearn is transforming access to education and is one of the world's largest social learning platforms. Based in London's Camden Town, we offer online courses, programs and degrees run by over 100 leading universities from around the world including UCL, University of California Berkeley, University of Edinburgh, University of Melbourne, King's College London, Purdue University and University of Groningen. We also offer online courses from specialist education providers including CIPD, UNESCO and the Raspberry PI foundation.
Our vision is a global community, where everyone learns together and enjoys access to the education they need to transform their lives. Our award-winning platform helps by provoking conversation around the course material, so that learners and educators learn as much from each other as from the material itself.
Since our launch in September 2013, we've run hundreds of courses that have attracted over 10 million learners from all over the world and we've seen over 19 million enrolments on our open online courses and are now working with our partners to pioneer a more modular and accessible approach to studying full degrees.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We're looking for an aspiring Assistant Content Producer to join FutureLearn's in-house Studio team. The FutureLearn Studio team provides creative services to FutureLearn partners and clients. This ranges from consultancy and individual elements of short courses, to end-to-end course/program design and production.
As Assistant Content Producer, you will provide hands-on support to Producers, Learning Designers and academic staff to source and develop online course content.
We're looking for a self-starter who is passionate about learning. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience of producing public-facing content for the web, whether that means text, graphics, audio or video. You will have used content management systems (CMS) before to manage online media and may also have developed some technical skill in photography, graphic design, video production and/or HTML.
You'll help to transform raw materials from academics, tutors and other contributors into highly polished and engaging online learning experiences hosted on FutureLearn.com. This will involve everything from sub-editing copy to supporting a film crew on a video production shoot.
You'll take charge of uploading content to the FutureLearn content management system and managing the administration of the component courses within each online program. You'll make sure assets are carefully logged and archived for future re-use. Working closely with the university's faculty staff, you will ensure all content is rights-cleared and made fully accessible.
We're looking for a highly focussed and organised individual capable of juggling multiple projects at once. Ideally you'll also have a passion for learning and a basic grasp of theories and trends in education technology.
