As the success of Emmerdale continues to grow, we are looking for an Archivist to join our busy hard working team, ensuring that every single one of our episodes each year remains top quality entertainment.
This role entails...
We are looking for an organised, self-motivated archivist to maintain the programme archive and provide factual and archive support to the Emmerdale writing and production teams. The post holder will be the first point of contact for a wide range of individuals requiring information about Emmerdale and will need to be able to deal professionally with writers, cast, production staff, journalists and members of the public. To provide cover for the Full-Time Archivist whilst they are on annual leave.
Key Responsibilities:
* To run and maintain a comprehensive system of characters, stories, sets and listed info, keeping them in an effective and efficient state so as to facilitate clear and accessible extraction of archive material to ensure continuity and accuracy.
* To read script drafts, highlighting continuity and consistency of new and established story, script and character points. To ensure inconsistencies or factually inaccurate material is flagged to the relevant script editor/s and to offer alternative suggestions.
* Assisting storyline writers, scriptwriters and production team with archival and factual information.
* Managing requests for archive clips.
* Providing programme information to production staff, the Emmerdale press office and product placement team.
* Researching, compiling and editing clips packages for various awards.
* Maintain up to date versions of shooting scripts to be archived
* Deputise for the Archivist whilst on annual leave.
What do I need to get this role/job?
Minimum criteria
* Strong demonstrable organisational, administrative and secretarial skills (including keyboard skills).
* Excellent knowledge of Emmerdale past and current storylines and characters.
* Competent IT Skills including Word, Excel, Google Systems (Mail, Docs, Sites).
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to change approach depending on the circumstances.
* Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
* Ability to work under own initiative and without constant supervision including the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
* Experience working to deadlines in a pressurised environment.
