An opportunity has arisen for an Archive Librarian to join our busy ITV Archive (Preservation and Access) department. In this role, you'll be handling up to several hundred film and tape assets daily. You'll help to maintain and manage an archive of over a million media items, using databases to carefully log and traffic the archive collections.

A key part of the role will be to provide a first class 'supply and enquiry' service to colleagues. This will involve taking requests via the 'phone and email; you'll retrieve, dispatch and track the requested media items, physically moving and storing these valuable tape and film materials. As well as providing an excellent professional service, you will adhere to the archive's strict policies and processes, and all relevant health and safety codes of practice.

You will join us with previous demonstrable experience of working in a fast moving environment (media archive or equivalent). You will have strong communication skills, be adaptable and flexible with great organisational skills. You will be able to demonstrate a very high level of attention to detail and enjoy working in a busy team environment. An information management qualification or media library/archive experience would be an advantage, but overall, an understanding and keen interest in archive material and collections is key.

You may be required to work weekends and bank holidays and to work at other ITV sites on occasions, and may involve the use of ladders and steps to access material and lone-working in the vaults.
