We are looking for an experienced 2nd/3rd Assistant Director to join our prestigious serial-drama, on a permanent basis.
Here on Emmerdale, our department of 2nd/3rd ADs rotate so that they can cover blocks of Emmerdale in either capacity, offering variety to their roles and keeping their skill-base fresh.
As a 2nd AD the main function is to support the 1st AD with organising and planning the day's shoot, working closely with the 3rd AD/Floor Assistants as a point of information and main communicator to ensure the smooth running of the production unit.
When working as a 3rd, your duties will be to work alongside the 1st AD on-set, whilst liaising and supporting the 2nd AD to ensure that all instructions are relayed accurately between cast and crew.
We are looking for an experienced 2nd/3rd AD who will work in this capacity with a firm objective of developing their skills to the 1st Assistant Director level and subsequently covering this position, within the next 12 to 18 months, depending on performance. Therefore, role model qualities and good leadership skills are essential.
You will need to have a proven track record of working in this capacity. Our preferred candidate will already have knowledge of working on Emmerdale as an A.D or a similar Production. You will be able to work in a team as well as lead; be a strong communicator and possess excellent organisational and admin skills.
You will be flexible and adaptable with regards to working patterns and schedule changes, responding to business needs at short notice. You will have good physical stamina as you are required to work long hours on drama in both a studio environment and on location, often during inclement weather conditions.
Confidentiality, discretion and diplomacy are also essential qualities for this role. Driving Licence Preferable.
