I wanted to highlight some of the events we have been doing over the past two years or so in conjunction with Channel 5\u2019s Head of Development, Beren Money.<\/p>\n

Taking in two great locations, The Hospital Club<\/strong> in Covent Garden and On The 7th<\/strong> at MediaCityUK in Salford, we have been able to reach out to our members and get them in the same room, over a drink, with some of the industry\u2019s movers and shakers.<\/p>\n

To date, we\u2019ve had a brilliant, diverse selection of speakers \u2013 from producers, directors, writers and talent to technical geniuses who are changing the whole landscape of the medium.

\nWe\u2019ve seen the original taster tape for An Idiot Abroad<\/em>, discovered how the look of The Apprentice<\/em> was created, learned about the mind-boggling logistics of ITV\u2019s live talent show Superstar<\/em>, and lifted the lid on the workings of Zeebox… to name but a few. Throughout, it\u2019s been a fascinating, revelatory and often very funny insight into some of Britain\u2019s most innovative and distinctive television.<\/p>\n

And so it continues with our event next week – another great line up of speakers, such as the triple BAFTA-wining director, Dan Reed<\/strong> discussing his work including two of his ground-breaking films \u2013 Terror at the Mall<\/em> (HBO\/BBC2) and the The Paedophile Hunter<\/em> (C4). If that wasn\u2019t enough, we have Dan Gold<\/strong>, Exec Producer and Simon Raikes<\/strong>, Channel 5\u2019s Commissioning Editor, talking about the critically acclaimed series, Britain’s Bloodiest Dynasty<\/em>, revealing their secrets for producing great drama documentary.<\/p>\n
