I wanted to highlight some of the events we have been hosting recently in conjunction with Channel 5\u2019s Head of Development, Beren Money.<\/p>\n

To date, we\u2019ve had a brilliant, diverse selection of speakers \u2013 from producers, directors, writers and talent to technical geniuses who are changing the whole landscape of the medium. And all in the comfort of a great venue with a drink in hand.<\/p>\n

Series Producer of Emmerdale<\/em>, Kate Oates<\/strong>, gave the audience a great insight into the success of this 42 year old series, and how the gruelling schedule is managed. Partick Spence<\/strong>, the Executive Producer of Sky Atlantic\u2019s Fortitude<\/em>, took us through this gripping drama from concept to screen, with a few very illuminating stories on some of the technical problems they had to overcome \u2013 like having to import fake snow from London to, of all places, Iceland!

\nDan Reed<\/strong> discussed his ground-breaking documentaries, Terror at the Mall<\/em> (HBO\/BBC2), the story of the terrorist attack on the Westgate shopping mall in Nairobi in 2013, and The Paedophile Hunter<\/em> (Channel 4), looking at the work of Stinson Hunter and his gang, who pose as underage girls in order to catch paedophiles. With a complete change of tack, we heard from Andy Brereton<\/strong> (Head of Comedy Entertainment, Tiger Aspect) and Sebastian Grant<\/strong> (Executive Producer, Tiger Aspect) discussing BBC Three\u2019s high-concept reality show, I Survived A Zombie Apocalypse<\/em>.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re delighted to have James Newton<\/strong>, the Series Director of BBC Two\u2019s The Detectives<\/em>, up for the next one alongside another great speaker \u2013 to be announced shortly.<\/p>\n
