How it works...
We've been online now for 5 years (see About Us).
Production companies and broadcasters (click here to see those who have been here in the last month) can come to
productionbase when they're looking for to view our individual members. Using the search facility they can quickly access the members' directory . Our members work in all grades within the film and television
industry. Members' Directory Searches
Company members can perform cross-referenced profile searches (e.g. Researchers who have worked on Travel Documentaries who speak
fluent French...or Directors who have
worked on Natural History programmes and Science documentaries).
Alternatively, they can search very broadly (e.g. Researchers available during December 2001). Jobs Board
We also have a jobs bulletin board. Companies can post vacancies here that are often not advertised elsewhere. As an Individual Member you can apply for these jobs online, with a covering email and a link through to your productionbase profile. If a job is posted that corresponds to your job type we send you an e-mail alert. Who uses us?
We are used by many BBC departments, LWT, Carlton TV, Channel 4, Granada, Mersey TV and other broadcasters as well as hundreds of indies (GMG Endemol,
Mentorn Barraclough Carey, etc.). For a list of companies who have recently

You enter your own details into our template profile. (You can cut and paste from
a Word document.) You can choose whether or not you have your contact numbers displayed on the profile. You can upload a photograph, or a showreel, or a soundtrack, and as well as the online production base profile you can upload your own personalised Word document which employers can then download. With your own login and password you have 24hour access to your profile and diary availability, so you can alter and update them whenever
you like. You will receive weekly emails letting you know which companies have viewed your

Can the productionbase guarantee work?
It is worth noting that the productionbase is a professional networking club for the screen industries, and not an employment service. While we have thousands of Company members and thousands of jobs may have been filled through our contact facilities, we can't guarantee work, as the jobs rest with the Company members and are affected by the state of the industry as a whole. We cannot guarantee that companies who view your profile will call you in for an interview or that you will be offered the position after interview. Those decisions rest with the companies.
