Video Technician with Sound

London

Duties and ResponsibilitiesTo work with the Production Manager to co-ordinate the hire and preparation of equipment in tech and throughout the run.
To set up the radio mics during the production period.
To run on-stage video and sound plots during performances.
To fit and maintain actors' radio mics during performances.
To manage video and sound checks and ensure the smooth running of the show.
To be responsible for video equipment maintenance.
To assist the Sound No. 1 with sound and communications equipment maintenance
To live mix the show from front of house during performances at least once a week, if required.
To provide technical support for any cast rehearsals as scheduled by the Company Stage Manager.
To be an active member of the production team, working to support and assist staff in other departments where necessary.
To attend technical and dress rehearsals to ensure awareness of the video and requirements, and any resulting changes.
To uphold the high production standards expected for a first-class play, and the high artistic quality required by the Video Designer and Sound Designer.
To comply with the National's Equal Opportunities and Health and Safety Policy
To carry out all other duties normally associated with the role of Video technician with Sound No. 2 duties on a West End production.

Person SpecificationExtensive operational video and sound experience and excellent technical skills, with a proven track record of dealing with complex video projection and radio mic shows.
Excellent knowledge of video projection and media server equipment.
Previous experience of working on a West End production in a similar role.
Flexible and self-motivated with the ability to work well with actors and other theatre staff.
A calm and practical approach to technical trouble-shooting.
Ability to work under pressure.
Good communication, organisational and IT skills

Essential Skills for the role - Knowledge and experience of Catalyst V5 media server, and ETC Eos Family Consoles.

Desirable - Awareness of Panasonic Projector Control software for DZ13 & DZ870 series projectors.
