Studio Trainee

Job Title: Studio Trainee
Location: EC1 & Covent Garden

Reporting to: Ted Donnelly, Studio Manager

Hours of work: 08:30 - 17:30
Remuneration: £13,500 per annum
Holiday: 25 days per annum

Start date: 18th Aug 2014

• It is of critical importance to the end client that all speakers (often Barristers and Accountants) are treated with the utmost courtesy and professionalism.

Key role functions

The manager will advise, plan and execute all live and non-live events which might be to create training videos, pre-recordings for Live events, demonstrations or special presentations. This aspect of the position requires production experience, patience and imagination to assist inexperienced visitors in the conversion of their concepts to a real studio execution based on the resources available. The role requires involvement in the following:

Live Studio Webinars:
• Wiring of participants' microphones
• Filming on Sony HDV camcorders
• Recording and Live mixing on Newtek's Tricaster 850 vision mixer.
• Live Encoding of Windows media and Flash content
• Production control of streaming to mobile/tablet devices
• Running of simple webcast software to synchronize PowerPoint presentations
• Monitoring of the web-facing output

Recorded (non Live) events
• Editing skills would be beneficial (Adobe CC)
• Uploading, data transfer & encoding.

There are also various filming and potential live streams on location.

At the manager's discretion, you may also be involved in:

• Studio bookings and liaison
• Studio tours
• Maintenance, Studio upkeep and housekeeping
• Encoding - general
• Editing and post production
• Statistical reporting, analysis and quality checking

Back-up and Archiving
Key routines post live events and recordings revolve around the efficient backing up and archiving of recording materials, and the trimming and editing of selected shoots.

All training will be provided. After three month probation the position will be re-viewed and hopefully promoted to Technical Operator with an increase to £15,000
