Studio Director/Vision Mixer

To take all elements of Studio production & ensure they work together to provide an effective sales tool. Responsible for live studio output along with directing and vision mixing live multi camera output.

Key responsibilities & accountabilities

• Responsible for live studio output.
• Ability to follow & translate editorial into matching shots
• Correct Gallery etiquette and protocols.
• Integrating sound & vision to make good programming.
• Ability to make split second decisions in a live gallery environment.
• Assessment of visual output from studio including shot framing focus & technical quality.
• Assessment of audio output from studio including correct relative levels of sources and quality of Audio.
• Working closely with both Producers and Buyers to ensure the aims of the show are met visually.
• Supervise playback of VT into studio productions.
• Thoroughly prepping all products before they go to air enabling a good understanding of how to shoot the product in its best light.
• Prepping on studio floor with floor staff, Presenter and Producer to enable successful shooting of the show.
• Liaise with all departments to ensure all elements of the show happen correctly and run smoothly.
• Check VT before programme to ensure they go to air correctly.

Person Specification

• Multi skilled, quick thinker able to work well under pressure.
• Experience of Directing & Vision mixing live multi camera output.
• Strong team leader with initiative able to lead as well as work within a team.
• Creatively driven with excellent communication and organisational skills.
