JOB PURPOSE

In 2016, Perform signed an historic agreement with FIBA (the International Basketball Federation) to manage and exploit worldwide media rights to all national team events for the next 17 years (2017-2033) and to take the lead role in defining and managing all aspects of content production and distribution. FIBA Media has been set up by FIBA and Perform as the entity that is wholly responsible for the implementation of all aspects related to the agreement.

Perform is seeking a Social Media Assistant Producer to join the newly formed "FIBA Media" team to assist in maximising the usage of Perform produced content and the audience reached, and in the promotion of basketball. Events include the Basketball World Cup and major continental championships as well as a brand new European club competition, the Basketball Champions League which launches in September 2016.

The Social Media Assistant Producer is expected to use their creativity and passion for European and World basketball to create video content that engages fans anytime, anywhere.

SUMMARY OF ROLE

The successful candidate will be part of the production of content for 600+ live games per year (circa 150 days per annum).
Working alongside both FIBA's Communications and FIBA Media Production Teams you will help enhance FIBA's digital presence on social media platforms by creating and designing media rich content and make a considerable contribution to shaping content strategy.
You will be based in our Feltham office, so it is essential, due to the nature of the hours, on occasion, that you can arrange your journey to and from work outside of public transport hours.
The role is full time and will require flexibility as the hours will include evenings and some possible weekend work.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• To edit and deliver original, high quality content, producing pictures and graphics with creativity, energy and skill.
• To demonstrate editorial judgement and selection appropriate to service requirements
• Help to develop campaigns that incorporate social media techniques to generate visibility and awareness through rich media content.
• To work with internal Perform and FIBA Communications teams to ensure the timely delivery of content to its final destination
• To develop an understanding of new technologies used in the delivery of multi-platform products and to implement the use of equipment needed to execute this
• To work well to tight deadlines and to offer creative and flexible solutions, in order to develop and shape the product and realise its full potential across multiple platforms
• To build and maintain a proactive and collaborative relationship with in-house teams, and have an understanding of technical and delivery aspects of digital media
• Develop the content and suggest new ideas for video treatments
• To play a central role in a regular product review process, including regular meetings with the Producer, Senior Producer, Head of Content and Product Owners
• Have knowledge of using and managing social media content management systems such as Hootsuite.
• Support the FIBA Communications Team in their endeavours to grow the exposure of FIBA national team basketball and the Basketball Champions League

REQUIREMENTS

• First rate, demonstrable knowledge of and interest in both international and European Basketball.
• Proven and substantial experience in managing social media campaigns and delivering audience and engagement growth
• An up-to-date knowledge and interest in digital and social media marketing tools and techniques
• Understanding of technical and delivery aspects of broadcast and digital media
• Manage the delivery of multi-format programme files
• Excellent Avid-based editing software skills
• Excellent editorial judgement appropriate to content requirements
• Experience with ENG and DV cameras an advantage
