Shooting Producer/Director
BBC Wales, Cardiff Broadcasting House
SELF SHOOTING PRODUCER/DIRECTOR - X-RAY - 12 WEEK CONTRACT
BBC One Wales' flagship consumer programme X-ray is noted for its investigative journalism and its highly crafted and entertaining short films. Our last series achieved record audiences and we are keen to build on that success. From January - March 2017 we will transmit 9 programmes at peak time on BBC One Wales and we are looking for an experienced self-shooting Producer/ Director to join the team.
You will have a strong journalistic background with experience in researching, scripting and producing legally and editorially complex stories. Experience of consumer programme making or similar investigative journalistic genres would be a distinct advantage.
The ideal candidate will be experienced in directing crews, a confident self-shooter, with considerable experience of making short, visually creative films. As a senior member of the team, you will oversee the work of less experienced assistant producers and researchers. You will also occasionally script and produce complete programmes, so will ideally have a track record in edit producing and structuring fast-turnaround journalistic, magazine-type programmes.
Please send a CV and 200 words on why you think you're the right person by 10am on Wednesday 14th December.
