Job Introduction

The BBC Academy is organised into 4 Colleges for Leadership, Journalism, Production and Technology; each a centre of excellence in designing and delivering specialised training and development events to meet the ever changing requirements of all divisions within the BBC and extending these to the wider media industry . The Academy Operations, Finance and Planning team is responsible for supporting the Academy to deliver a high quality training service as effectively and seamlessly as possible.
Role Responsibility

We are looking to recruit Schedulers within the Academy to be responsible for translating BBC training demands and strategic objectives into an effective and efficient training schedule. In these senior, strategic roles you will be responsible for building great relationships with Colleges and the wider business in order to understand and respond to training needs. You will be expected to develop a detailed understanding of the annual business plans of each college and be trusted to take decisions on their behalf.

As a Scheduler, you will evaluate training demand, make key decisions on behalf of the colleges and business and deliver a centralized Academy schedule. You will work within the team of Academy Schedulers and Scheduling Planners, allocate resources that deliver against the budgeted training plan and identify synergies across the Academy that will ensure the optimum use of available resources.

This is an opportunity to be part of a new team working at a senior level within the Academy, close to the business agenda and aimed at maximising the delivery of training.
The Ideal Candidate

You will have previous experience of working at a senior level either within learning and development or within the wider broadcasting industry. .

You will be able to identify and analyse a problem, develop creative solutions, analyse business requirements to ensure we maximise resources, make decisions to control costs ensuring we deliver value for money.

Working in a customer focused, results driven environment you'll possess excellent communication, influencing, relationship building, planning and organising skills with the ability to manage conflicting deadlines and work well under pressure
