QVC, the UK's leading shopping channel and multi-channel retailer, are currently recruiting for their freelance Runner/Production Assistant pool to assist the Video Content Production team on an occasional basis.

The busy internal Video Content Production department film and produce over 10 different promos, demos and VTs each week, with up to two crews filming in studios or on location each day, from Monday to Friday. We are looking to recruit a pool of freelance Runners/Production Assistants to assist the crews predominantly on location shoots. This would involve helping to transport kit, driving the crew van, and assisting the Producers, crew and looking after all talent that attend the shoots.

Main duties include:
• Liaising with Producer/Senior Co-ordinator before the shoot and prepping (when required).
• Driving the crew van to the location (and sometimes doing drop offs and returns).
• Booking taxis/couriers.
• Looking after talent both before and during shoots.
• Organising lunch/refreshments for the crew.
• Going between multi shoots to transport kit/product when required.
• Being in charge of petty cash on location, and looking after rushes when needed.
• Occasional office duties assisting as a Production Assistant, which includes admin and office assistance, pulling products, as well as occasional cover for the Production Co-ordinators.

A large part of the freelance role would involve driving the crew van, as well as assisting with transporting kit, products and people to the right place at the right time. Our Freelance Runners are expected to be confident drivers, with good organisational skills and the ability to think on their feet. An interest in television and previous Runner experience would be advantageous; but proven enthusiasm, emotional intelligence and common sense skills would more than make up for specific experience.

A full, clean driving license is essential. You must be willing to drive the crew van (where specific training will be given).

You must also be responsible for your own tax, as a self-employed individual, as we will ask you to invoice us for your hours worked after each shoot.

This is not a full time position, and we cannot guarantee set hours, but we want to recruit a reliable freelance pool who we can call upon both in advance and last-minute so please state your availability when applying for the role.

Please note you must be available during weekdays as we do not shoot on evenings and weekends.
