Launching in late 2012, the Knowledge & Learning product will be a unified place for our factual and learning content, as well as being ubiquitous across Online, creating journeys of learning across the website.

From June 2011, this product will be run from Vision's new Learning headquarters in Media City UK in Salford, under the direction of the Executive Editor. These positions are based in Bristol and the genre specialisms include Nature, Gardening and Food.

A central team, in collaboration with the pan-UK K&L production base, will set the editorial direction for the Knowledge & Learning product and work alongside a local production team.

Role

You will provide support to the editorial team in researching and preparing material for use on interactive platforms or services. You will have accountability for supporting new projects and existing output by way of research; managing content assets for the editorial team and informing the editorial team on useful content and market information.

You will support the editorial team in building brand awareness through search engine optimisation and social media networks. You will also respond to tight deadlines and changing requirements, providing support and advice on online content and platforms to colleagues and external suppliers (e.g. Indies) as required.

Requirements

You will have the ability to translate an understanding of audience needs into imaginative and compelling content ideas as well as the ability to research accurately when producing original content. Alongside this, you will have good writing skills, strong web and computer literacy skills as well as some experience of shooting, editing and publishing content (including AV and images) and an understanding of television production processes. You will also have an understanding and use of tagging and metadata.
