Position Summary:

From 1st January 2017, Discovery Communications will become the official multiplatform and broadcast rights holder for the Olympic Games in Europe. Eurosport will be the new Home of the Olympic Games and this role is critical to ensuring the delivery of the ultimate Games experience for our audiences.

Reporting into the Olympics Digital Product Director, the Project Manager will be focused on the delivery of existing and new projects, working with various stakeholders from the Product teams as well as other functions within the business as required. The Project Manager will have experience in working within an agile environment, and managing many budgets and stakeholders.

The Eurosport Digital team works across the international product development of OTT and streaming digital products to global offices. The team provides strategic, analytical, development, product and project management expertise on complex projects.

The ideal candidate will have a background in project management preferably in broadcast, OTT, Sport or a media company. The Project Manager will lead projects with a high degree of collaboration in a heavily matrixed and geographically diverse organization. The role requires strong project management and problem solving skills, as well as strong analytical, communication, and cross-cultural management experience.
Responsibilities:

Define and manage project delivery plans and dependencies across multiple internal teams and external providers, across multiple projects.
Assist in preparing and presenting at QA reviews and Steering Executive Committee Meetings.
Prepare and present project status updates as required.
Create Project Initiation Documents simultaneously for multiple projects, varying in scope and timelines.
Own all project reporting including RAG status and risks and issues (with input from local offices).
Agree and introduce new processes as required to ensure timely delivery.
Be attentive to detail and possess a high-degree of follow-through.
Create status reports as relevant to the stakeholder
Ensure each team in the delivery life cycle has assets to hand and deliver according to your plan.
Where appropriate, own the end-to-end delivery of individual projects.

Requirements:

A love of sport and the Olympic Games
Previous experience in a project management role delivering high profile, scalable digital products.
Proven ability to lead and run multiple complex projects/programs from planning, design and development through to production.
Experienced in delivering multinational deliveries, across multiple sites and multiple languages.
Experience in broadcast media or media strongly preferred but not essential.
Team oriented, self-starter: ability to work in a team as well as to work and lead efforts independently.
Fluency in digital and technical terminology, comfortable working with technology and development teams.
Strong presentation and communication skills; ability to interface with business customers at all levels of the organization.
Excellent problem solving, critical thinking and analytical skills.
Direct experience working with and across various cultures.
Proven understanding of all key disciplines required as part of a project delivery.
Exposure to a mixture of Waterfall, Agile, and Prince2 methodologies.
