Holby City is BBC 1's BAFTA award winning Medical Drama Series transmitted on BBC One at 8pm every Tuesday, with an average audience of 6 million viewers a week. As the Producer, you'll produce our popular drama making it one of the most watched and talked about programmes on the Channel. With over 350 hours of in-house output a year, BBC Drama Production is making some of the most original, diverse and highly acclaimed television. These range from continuing drama such as Holby City, Casualty, EastEnders and Doctors, to series and serials such as Silent Witness, Luther and Five Daughters to name just a few. RoleLeading a team, you'll produce and be accountable for the delivery of episodes on time, within budget and within our editorial guidelines. Coming up with creative ideas, treatments and formats you'll ensure the programme is produced to a high quality and increase our audience share. You'll be working with internal and external customers fostering and developing good working relationships and ensuring value for money. You'll be responsible for encouraging, fostering and developing creative talent and have an understanding of the roles of programme and resource staff working on the production. In addition you will plan, revise and monitor the production budgets and schedules.RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need experience of producing drama, preferably a long running series. You'll need experience of managing a team, a budget; strong negotiation, influencing and persuading skills as well as the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines. It's also important that you have an awareness of the external market, professionals within the industry and have strong communication skills. A passion for Drama, especially Holby City, is essential.This is a senior role within Drama and it's important you have the relevant skills required above. If you do not have these skills, then this job isn't for you
