Operations Manager / Production Accountant

Dalston, London

We are looking for an Operations Manager with production accounts experience and a love of technology to become a key player in our growing business. We are looking for a strong team player, with the ability to lead and inspire; someone diligent who pays great attention to detail; keen to fully exploit their knowledge and experience, along with their network of industry contacts. You will be someone who can embrace the challenge of growing a start-up business and establishing We Got POP as the leading platform for film production services.

We are offering an opportunity to get in early on something fast growing; and better hours than what is common in the film industry.

Responsibilities
Company Administration
Proactively manage administration of the POP group:
· Responsible for staff onboarding including execution of employment contracts and managing email accounts; platform log-ins; and access to other IT services and employee resources used by the company
· Company HR function; ensuring compliance with employment legislation and company policies; including first point of contact for staff and managing review process alongside department heads.
· Manage staff payroll
· Responsible for managing new platform clients, executing contracts and working with user support team and development team to ensure smooth set up and on boarding

Group Accounts
Together with the company's accountants:
· Prepare and deliver monthly management accounts for POP group's directors
· Prepare and file VAT returns for the POP group companies
· Oversee and manage book keeping using Xero and authorise payments
· Keep up to date with tax opportunities relevant for POP; investigate and propose tax efficiencies where relevant

Manage the Back Office
Proactively manage all aspects of POP's client back office:
· Establish and enforce back office processes and supervise support staff in their role:
o (Enter salary vouchers received), liaise with agent/agency clients and manage all payment reviews, including responding to and following up on artist and hirer queries raised
o Raise invoices and monitor outstanding payments due from hirers
o Manage all artist payrolls, including reconciliation of client account funds
· Establish, maintain and oversee good working relationship with production accountants and payment teams at production companies and agencies
· Establish and oversee good onboarding, support and feedback processes for clients
· Manage and oversee creation of manuals and documentation relevant to back office
· Oversee artist registration from back office perspective including internal support on right to work and other payment queries

UK Office Management
Manage the effective running of POP's UK office:
· General office administration
· General book keeping and supplier payments
· Answering phones and artist emails as required
· Admin support for directors and team including booking travel and meetings

Requirements
· Min 5 years experience, ideally in film/TV production accounts
· Strong computer literacy and interested in using technology to improve processes
· Confident with back office administration: invoicing/accounts receivables, accounts payable, VAT and general accounting principles
· Experience with commercial contracts
· Exceptionally organised
· Diligent with an eye for detail
· Work well under pressure with a problem solving attitude
· Great team player
· Excellent computer skills
· Accounting Research & Development knowledge a plus but not essential
· HR experience a plus but not essential
