Onscreen Journalist - ITV Meridian

How can you help us deliver engaging, hard hitting and compelling journalism to our diverse audience across the ITV Meridian region?

We have an opportunity to join our award-winning news team as an Onscreen Journalist based in the Thames Valley, working out of our bureaux in Didcot and Reading and, on occasion, from the Whiteley studios.

Onscreen Journalists are a key part of our newsgathering team. You will use your excellent editorial judgement to source, film, edit and present news stories across the region, working to tight deadlines.

As our Onscreen Journalist, you will have a solid background in journalism and reporting and have experience of working within a busy television newsroom. You will have a proven track record producing creative, original journalism; consistently delivering reports to the highest possible production values. We are a multi-platform operation so you will be enthusiastic about developing an online presence through our web sites and via social media interaction.

You will be a first class communicator with the ability to build relationships with contacts to bring in original news stories and develop high-profile running stories. You must be a self starter who regularly contributes original ideas. We will expect you to be willing and enthusiastic about developing your camera and editing skills to compliment the newsgathering and story-telling skills you already possess.
