Visual Communications Agency - Video - Reading

Changing Horizons is a successful visual communications agency, established for over 12 years, specialising in corporate video production based in Reading and London. We have an established client list spanning some of the most respected and recognised brands in the world. We seek an experienced and highly creative Motion Graphics Designer competent in Adobe Creative Suite including After Effects, Premiere and ideally C4D to join our team on a permanent basis. Experience in video editing and/or camera operation filming is also desirable.

You will predominantly be based in the Reading office with the opportunity to work from home 1-2 days per week depending on your location, if you have the appropriate set up (e.g appropriate home computer set up and high speed cable broadband)

Salary: Circa £24k - £30k depending on experience

Duties would include:

• Editing and adding quality graphics and animations to corporate videos from brief through to completion using Adobe Creative Suite
• Creating engaging graphics that meet the brief and client requirements
• Fluid communication with Producers and wider CH team regarding project delivery
• Desirable: Editing videos and/or camera operation on location shoots.

Key Responsibilities

• You will work creatively, accurately and efficiently to edit and create high quality graphic videos that meet CH and client expectations and deadlines.
• Your proven track record in making corporate videos will ensure you are able to follow storyboards with ease and add creativity where required.
• You'll be comfortable working across a range of corporate video styles from documentaries to explainers, spoofs to event edits.
• You will have the confidence to handle text heavy videos and create stylish graphics
• You will have a good understanding of time and budget pressures imposed by clients and will know where to draw the line in terms of individual pursuit for creative excellence.
• Your great attention to detail will ensure you always achieve high standards in terms of colour correction, graphic/ text alignments and file labelling.
• You will be experienced in working with different client brand guidelines and will know how to utilise them in your graphic designs
• You will multitask projects and be able to communicate effectively in order to manage expectations from Producers.
• Your strong interest in corporate video will ensure you are always on the lookout for new motion graphic techniques that you can bring to CH and your designs.
• You'll be an active team player and will contribute to client proposals with ideas on treatments and filming techniques.
• You'll be eager to develop personally within your role, learning new skills and continually improving the way you work.
• Desirable: Your filming experience will ensure you are confident both filming interviews and cutaways ensuring all shots are well lit with good sound and that interviewees are comfortable. Follow directions from Producers/ Directors on shoots and be constantly on the lookout for interesting and creative shots.
• Desirable: Effective in video editing, creating strong narrative led videos that meet the storyboard requirements and CH quality standards


Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Essential
• Passion for creative and innovative motion graphics delivery
• Degree educated or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years' experience of creating engaging motion graphics
• Minimum 1 years' experience specifically working on corporate videos
• In depth knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, After Effects and Premiere
• Experience of, 2D and 3D animation and ideally Cinema 4D/Element 3D. Vector icon animation, basic character animation, typography, motion tracking, understanding of colour pallets and an eye for composition.
• Good knowledge of video formats and file conversion
• Experienced user of Mac OS
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Own car & full driving licence
