Media Production Trainee

London

The Institute of Art and Ideas is looking for an enthusiastic Media Production Trainee to join the team of our rapidly growing online TV station IAI TV. Total Politics has called the IAI "Europe's answer to TED" and with weekly releases of debates, talks and podcasts, involving world's leading thinkers, politicians, scientists, and artists, we are well placed to influence the intellectual culture of the UK and the world.

As Media Production Trainee you will work closely with the online content team of the IAI. Working flexibly within the IAI TV team from our headquarters in central London, the role will be mainly focused on editing live debates and music filmed at our annual festival HowTheLightGetsIn as well as other high profile IAI events, preparing a wide range of material from hour-long webcasts and teaser trailers to concert videos and podcasts. You will be responsible for the production of high level online content for release on both our streaming platform and for international clients. You will also be a part of the on-site film team at all of our upcoming events, and be integral in the creation of new and exciting video content. The role has great scope for rapid advancement, in particular in the fields of pre-production and production. As such, the successful candidate will be given the opportunity to take a leading role in the filming team for our next festival in 2018

All applicants will need a strong grasp of current affairs, culture, and the history of ideas, and have a good understanding of how to construct a gripping, newsworthy story. Experience with editing software (Final Cut Pro 7, Adobe Premiere) is not necessary but can be advantageous, and a keen enthusiasm for and desire to work in media is a must!

Although these posts are for Trainee level positions, we will also consider internship posts for those with limited experience is they are sufficiently outstanding.

If you think you have what it takes, please apply now!
