Working mainly on our undergraduate BA Theatre Practice programme, and with scope for some postgraduate teaching, this post will enhance and reinforce Royal Central's international reputation for training leading theatre production specialists. The successful candidate will have significant experience in theatre production, for example as Chief Electrician or Head of Stage in a producing house, or in premiering medium-to-large scale touring productions. They will also have experience of vocational training and be able to demonstrate a commitment to developing their career and the study of theatre production, as a teacher and expert, within higher education.The post holder will work with students from all of the 12 strands of the BA Theatre Practice course, developing and delivering practical and concept based teaching, mentoring individuals and teams through theoretical and practical projects (including supporting the teams working on the School's public production programme) and setting and marking assessed work.The School encourages its lecturers to remain up-to-date in their specialist area(s) and current developments in theatre and live performance. You will be encouraged to develop your profile as an acknowledged authority in your field either through practical research or within relevant external networks, and there may be opportunities to lead or take part in external production projects - as part of the curriculum or independently of it.
