Lecturer in Screen Production/Post-production

The Department of Theatre, Film and Television at the University of York is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Screen Production and/or Post Production to contribute to activities in film, television and interactive media. You should have a PhD in a relevant subject or equivalent professional experience in cinema and broadcast television; experience of teaching film and television at HE level; and a strong record as a researcher or professional practitioner in one or more of the following areas: multi-camera studio TV production, cinematography, single-camera production or post-production. Candidates with a primary interest in audio should not apply.

The Department of Theatre, Film and Television was founded in 2007, and moved into a superb, £30m purpose-designed facility in 2010. We are now seeking to continue to enhance our research and teaching in discipline-specific fields while strengthening and expanding our interdisciplinary work across film and television, theatre and interactive media.
Our undergraduate degree programmes include a BSc in Film and Television Production, a BSc in Interactive Media, and a BA in Theatre: Writing, Directing and Performance, as well as masters programmes in Theatre, Digital Film and Television Production and in Post Production. There is also a thriving community of research students.
This appointment will be made on either a Research and Teaching or a Teaching and Scholarship contract depending on the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant. The post is available from 1st September 2017.
