Due to continual growth of the business across 3 sites, Axis are looking to expand their Senior Management team and are exploring a new HEAD OF STRATEGY & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT role. The primary aim of this role would be to define and manage cross-site strategy, business development and operations for the Bristol and London studios, taking responsibility for identifying, creating and developing opportunities, converting new business, pitching, bidding, and high level client management and satisfaction.We expect there to be a degree of evolution of the role based on suitable candidates skillsets, backgrounds and due to changing business needs and demands.The Head of Strategy & Business will work alongside the Managing Director, Head of Production & Operations, VFX Supervisors and Senior Creative Staff to generate positive growth and change within the business.This involves defining objectives that are in line with the overall vision for the business and developing an associated strategy to meet those objectives. It also includes communication with and reporting to the Axis 'mothership' in Glasgow regarding studio performance and operational issues.Candidates are required to work on-site in the UK and for exceptional candidates, visa sponsorship may be possible.RESPONSIBILITIES :Have a full understanding of customers, collaborators and competitors; opportunities, risks and challenges, within the VFX and animation industries.Research, identify, seek out and acquire new business opportunities.Develop relationships with new clients and prospects, including attending events and meetings.Continue to grow existing client relationships, ensuring client satisfaction and repeat business.Attend client and supplier meetings, both on and off site.Manage growth and change, in terms of people, projects and studio operations.Ensure efficient and effective studio operations at all times.SKILLS & EXPERIENCE :Experience of defining a strategy and seeing it through to completion.Experience of entrepreneurial approaches that have led to the realization of a vision.Experience of working within the fast-paced environment of visual effects and/or animation.Extensive team management skills.Extensive client-facing experience.Thorough understanding of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.TO BE EFFECTIVE IN THS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED TO BE :Be organised and methodical in your approach to work.Naturally motivate and lead large teams with enthusiasm.Instinctively anticipate both risks and opportunities, mitigating or capitalizing upon them as appropriate.Respond pro-actively to stress, remaining calm and personable even under pressure and when working to tight deadlines.Manage 'up' as well as 'across' and 'down'Put the outcome for the studio as a whole first.Delegate responsibility effective.See past the noise.
