A footage researcher will support the UK Sales and marketing effort by providing a speedy and thorough footage research service for UK clients, making sure that wherever possible ITN Source has the best and fastest response to client briefs, whilst pro-actively identifying and selecting material to generate sales and marketing opportunities.KEY TASKS/RESPONSIBILITIES:To respond to client research briefs and collate the best material ITN Source can offer in a speedy and thorough manner when required- To pro-actively seek out rare, interesting and impactful footage that has an appeal for the UK market, and share this with the UK team and UK clients.- To ensure ITN Source materials are sent to clients as quickly as possible, ahead of the competition, giving ITN Source a market advantage- To work with the Head of UK Sales and Marketing Manager to discover footage that would work across all of our marketing activities, including mailers, quiz nights, website homepage promotion, social media channels or events and trade shows.- To work with the BDM team to find footage for client "archive development workshops", by responding to the brief given, and to support the BDM in presenting this material to the client.- To work with the business development team to identity footage or collections of footage that could be pitched to a creative company to help stimulate broadcast programme ideas to take to market.- To attend UK sales meetings and take note of key trends or upcoming events that will require research support to maximise sales opportunities.- To keep informed about market trends in the broadcast and digital sectors, in order to ensure that any footage research is aligned to such trends.KEY ATTRIBUTES/QUALIFICATIONS:An "eye" for a compelling image - experience in footage research and what makes an image saleable or interesting to the creative sector.- A passion for footage.Sound editorial judgement.- A good working knowledge of the UK archive, TV and creative sectors.- A strong interest in all footage genres, most notably news, history and entertainment.- Ability to take a brief and respond, but also think around the idea and suggest alternative material which might add value to the client.- A good working knowledge and experience of copyright and rights clearances would be a significant advantage.- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.- Excellent IT skills.- Capable of working independently, and having responsibility as an individual, while also having the ability to contribute and work well within a team.- A positive, flexible and determined approach to footage research.- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal.
