Editorial Assistant

Overview
editorial assistant position will work under the central guidance of the Global Head of Content based in our Leeds offices. They will be tasked with providing a vital link with the Goal network in executing key campaigns and editorial initiatives. They will also be responsible for editorially supporting the sales and commercial divisions of the business. The role involves co-ordination and organisation of day-to-day operations of the editorial team.

Primary Responsibility
To ensure that the Goal network functions smoothly when required as part of key global campaigns and initiatives driven by the central team. Also to ensure successful execution of commercial deals and campaigns.

Key Responsibilities
• Taking a leading role in the organisation and production of sales and commercial initiatives
• Assisting the global team in ensuring upon consistency in strategy and branding across editions
• Assisting key managers with general and specific traffic research on an ad hoc basis
• Assisting key managers in coordinating network-wide content plans (advisories)
• Collating translation requests from editorial and other key business stakeholders
• Developing and maintaining the Goal.com intranet (including template library, calendar etc)
• Covering for Video Content Planner and Betting Editor as required
• Organisation and coordination of day-to-day operations in Leeds
• Maintaining a global football calendar

Key Performance Indicators
• Successful completion and execution of commercial campaigns
• Ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day operations
• Ensuring the intranet and associated docs are up-to-date and relevant at all times
• Successfully covering for Betting editor and Video content planner when required

Personal Competencies Required
• Excellent organisational and multitasking skills (team/people management skills)
• Journalism experience preferable (high-pressure, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment)
• Football expertise
• Substantial computer and web aptitude (CMS, SEO, general ingenuity)
• Fast communication (via email, phone, instant messaging, SMS messages)
• Availability (evenings, weekends, public holidays as and when required to meet business needs)
