Digital Media Intern

*12 month intern placement starting 1st July*

Department Overview

The Digital Media Department is an International team at the forefront of marketing TV content on emerging platforms. Discovery Networks International (DNI) has strong relationships with the major 'Download to Own' platforms including iTunes, Google Play, Amazon and XBOX and is also an active YouTube partner engaging with the latest developments on the platform.

Overall Purpose of the Role

The intern will be assisting the Editor / Producer with weekly video uploads to the internal archive system, creating metadata such as descriptions of video clips and with the running of YouTube Channels.

There will also be the opportunity to support the Syndication Manager with the day-to-day management of the partner YouTube account focusing specifically on using the Content Identification tools to protect Discovery material on the platform.

Key Responsibilities
Supporting the day to day maintenance of our YouTube dashboard ensuring that reference overlaps, ownership conflicts, potential claims and claim queries are dealt with in a timely manner
Harnessing the YouTube content ID tools and co-ordinating with counterpart in the US to ensure that Discovery's key programmes are protected on the platform.
Promoting Download To Own content from YouTube videos by applying annotations and descriptions using links generated from the platform affiliate tools.
Uploading videos to the internal archive system and to DNI YouTube channels - ensuring that all required metadata and images are of a high standard
Refreshing YouTube channels to ensure that the latest content is published and highlighted for subscribers.

Desirable Skills/Experience Required
Computer literate and good Excel skills
Confident YouTube and social media user
Attention to detail
Some understanding of Digital Video
Video Editing skills (preferable)
