Main dutiesHealth & Safety:1. Adhere to the Company's Health & Safety Policy and Alcohol & Substance AbusePolicy and to set a personal example in this respect.2. If requested, to contribute towards the generation of risk assessments.3. To comply with the recommendations contained within the risk assessments for theshow and the building.4. To ensure that Health & Safety equipment and all Personal Protection Equipmentsupplied is available and used correctly, reporting any defects to the ChiefElectrician.5. With others, ensure that all the electrical equipment is maintained to a highstandard and that portable appliances are regularly tested in accordance withrecommended guidelines to ensure compliance with the Electricity at WorkRegulations.Production:1. To work with the visiting Company and Stage Management to ensure goodcommunications and the smooth running of the production.2. With others, to ensure the production is maintained to the highest technicalstandards.3. To be familiar with the cues of each of the Electricians in the running of theproduction.4. To operate the lighting desk, load pyrotechnics, and work onstage during theperformance when required.Building:1. To assist in ensuring that the electrical installation is in good order and bring anydeficiencies to the attention of the Chief Electrician.2. To maintain good standards of "housekeeping" throughout the building.3. To carry out work throughout the building as required by the Theatre Manager orChief Electrician.4. As required to "light up" and "black out" the building at the beginning and end ofeach day.5. To diligently conduct lamp replacement rounds throughout the building as required.Staff:1. With others, to ensure that performance staff are fully utilised and completelyconversant with their duties for the show.2. To submit holiday request forms to the Chief Electrician in a timely manner.Working HoursWill vary with productions but will comply with the SOLT/BECTU Agreement. It is the natureof the business that the working of unsocial hours will be required.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities- Relevant electrical qualifications- Experience of operating and programming the Strand 520i- Understanding of theatre health & safetyPerson Specification- A quick learner who is keen to develop and share their knowledge- A flexible approach, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances- A proactive and calm approach to problem solving- A positive outlook and the ability to communicate effectively with their team matesand the visiting production
