We are looking for an experienced Assistant Producer who is a skilled self-shooter for a BBC Horizon following a clinical trial for children's brain cancer.

You will need to have recent high-end documentary credits (preferably sciencey). Absolutely paramount is the ability to deal with vulnerable people with charm, sensitivity and integrity while still nailing the story. You will also need to be robust enough psychologically to cope with very sick children.

Much of your time will be spent nursing relationships, visiting contributors in their own homes, shooting your own footage and overseeing both this and video diary material - as well as keeping the production itself on track. Good organisations skills (of footage, processes and resources) would be a real bonus as we are a bit rubbish at this ourselves.

We are looking for a flexible all-rounder unfettered by ego who is happy to turn their hand to just about anything as part of a tiny, hard-working team. This may include the washing-up. We are open to applications from those who can't work quite full-time.

Current driving licence is essential and own car preferable.

The trial is taking place in London, but the participants could live anywhere in the UK (and some may be international). We are based in a thatched cottage in Wiltshire that is also our home and those not within commuting distance of Wiltshire will need to be comfortable with occupying the spare room (en-suite) during the week when not filming. You will be well-fed and watered.

You will also need to love dogs as there are more of them here than people.

This is a prestigious, two year project (six-month contract initially) with a lot of scope for the right person. However, the set-up here is quirky and won't suit everyone so please think carefully before applying.
