About me
I have worked in television for 12 years and I am a presenter who can also self shoot, direct and edit. This summer I left the BBC after 9 years and in the past few months I have been developing my presenting career. In that time I presented the films which launched the new BBC headquarters in Glasgow, I reached the final 10 out of 500 presenters in a Channel Four presenting competition, was a Royal Television Society Presenter of the Future finalist and I am currently fronting corporate online video's. Credits and Employment History
2008 | Me4T4, T4 Channel Four Presenting Competition Finalist
• I filmed with T4 this summer as I reached the final 10 out of 500 applicants in their presenting competition. To see me presenting on T4 log on to www.joelkafetz.com where my presenting showreel loads instantly.

2008 | Royal Television Society 'Presenter in the Making' Finalist 2008
• Judged by a panel from Channel 4 Entertainment Commissioning.

2007/8 | BBC Scotland | Television Production Technology Trainer
• After completing the BBC 'Train the trainer' course I spent nine months training BBC Scotland production staff in the latest Avid broadcasting desktop editing technology.

2006/7 | BBC Scotland | Television Presenter, Director & Editor
• Presented and directed various internal communications films showcasing BBC Scotland's new £188 headquarters (see my presenting showreel which loads instantly at www.joelkafetz.com).
• The films I presented were HD digi crew shot. I also shot other films on Z1 and edited them on Avid Media Composer (my directing showreel can also be accessed from www.joelkafetz.com).

2007 | BBC Scotland | Glasgow's Commonwealth Bid Launch Film | Producer/ Director
• Directed the film used to launch Glasgow's successful 2007 Commonwealth Games bid which featured World Champion athlete Chris Hoy.
• Managed a small production team which included two researchers, a production co-ordinator and a production manager.

2005/6 | BBC Scotland (based in LA) | Hollywood Greats| Assistant Producer/ Director
• Researched and planned US filming.
• Celebrity booked and directed interviews with Hollywood A-listers for two series of the BBC ONE film star biography documentary.

2004/5 | BBC Factual, London | What Not To Wear| Assistant Producer
• Assistant Producer on the 2004 'What Not To Wear' Christmas Special
• Development Assistant Producer on the 2005 series.
• Assistant Producer on the 2005 series working on the 'Women Over 70' show.
• I DV shot and edited video diaries and shopping day packages for the programme.

2004 | BBC Scotland | Comedy & Entertainment | Development Assistant Producer
• Developed a variety of entertainment and factual entertainment ideas for the summer 2004 commissioning round.

2003/4 | BBC THREE (based in Australia) | Sex, Warts & All Down Under | DV Director
• Directed, researched and filmed sensitive people based stories about sex and gender.
• Worked with varied contributors including transsexuals, sexual health professionals and sex workers.
2003 | CBBC | Rule the School | DV Director/ Assistant Producer/ Editor
• Devised and developed the long running school role reversal series
• Work on the third series as an Assistant Producer which included DV shooting interviews and packages with adult and child contributors and editing various packages on Avid DV Express.

• Spent a summer DV filming a documentary with children who lived on the Scottish coast then edited 12 films on Avid DV Express which were transmitted on the CBBC Channel.

• Shot celebrity and charity films.
• Directed a live outside broadcast from Perth on the night.

2002| CBBC London | Hangin' Out | Director & Editor
• Shot and desktop edited a series of 'MTV style' DV films which profiled six CBBC presenters including Fearne Cotton and Angelica Bell.

• Completed a one month BBC DV directing and editing 'boot camp' for journalists.
• Self shooting and desktop edited my own reports for BBC Scotland's National news programme 'Reporting Scotland'.

• Devised, co-ordinated, researched and scripted three live studio games each week.
• Selected contestants and celebrity guests and briefed them in the studio.
